Marilyn Baker: My name is Marilyn Baker, a Teacher's Assistant passionate about teaching ELA, Social Studies, and Social Development Behavior. My journey in education has led me to graduate school- in my 4th semester at NYIT. My teaching philosophy is based on a Constructivist theory. This theory is based on observation and scientific study -- about how people learn. It says that people construct their own understanding and knowledge of the world, through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. Language Arts is an integration of reading, writing, speaking, inquiry, genres and so much more. If I were a book, I would be called, Miss International!
